Office Monotony

Look there, at the trees
Outside
Beyond the windowpanes
Nestled in the hills
Blowing in the breeze

You here, behind a screen
Encased
In controlled climate
Dusty, musty, crusty
Stifling office air

See that, ray of sunlight
Bursting
Through the clouds
Warmth inducing gold
Lighting up the Earth

You here, under tiled ceiling
Squinting
In harsh fluorescent
White washing all
Casting artificial shadows upon my mind
